Who is Barrett?

I see how this could be confusing. Barrett is me, well kind-of. Let me break it down…Natalie Barrett Shelton is me. Barrett is my middle name. No, it is not a family name, my mom just "liked" it. I think I like it too.

Why did you choose photography and do you love it?

I would have to say that photography chose me. I played with my dad's film camera in high school but never pursued it further. I studied to be an architect at Texas A&M University where I took one film class during a semester abroad in Italy. When I left my job as an Intern Architect for the mission field, I took my Canon 30D with me. And so the story goes that we were a good fit, my camera and me. It turns out that it is my way of expressing myself. I can't always write it out or speak with grace but I can show you what I see and how I feel about it through my images. And YES, it is one of my absolute loves.

What is your favorite moment of the wedding day to capture?

I have a couple but my favorite, favorite after the first kiss is when brides are given away. Something about that moment where a blessing is given and two people face one another for the first time to be husband and wife makes my heart flutter a little. It states the end of innocence and a stepping into a role that is a God-given gift. *secret tear

What should we wear?

Clothes…Jk. Wear something fun that you are comfortable in. Match enough to complement one another but not so much that we have to send in your pics to "awkward family photos". Bring two outfits, one more casual and the other a bit more dapper and fancy. Don't be afraid to do vibrant colors, loud patterns or not so ordinary accessories . Step out of your comfort zone for your images and it will pay off.

What additional portrait sessions do you offer?

Let me see… day after, boudoir, maternity & newborn (as of late), glamour shots, and really anything fun and not too creepy.

Do you offer albums?

Yes, and they are gorgeous. I offer leather or linen covered, customizable albums. The quality is the best I have seen and the finish, flawless. Some of the collections offered include an album or two but you can always order one a-la-carte.

How might we be able to secure you for our wedding date?

All dates can be reserved upon deposit. As soon as there's a RING on it, let's chat-I want ALL of the details. First things first, choose the collection that best fits your wants/needs. Then we move on to an
e-contract and deposit…then it's all romance behind the camera from there!
